Sydney's Madagascar Party!!

I have some bragging to do. I have been working so very hard on Sydney's birthday party. I hadn't planned on DOING so much for it, but I got a little tired of getting ripped off...so here are my Madagascar Party doings. :) For those of you who are not aware, Sydney is obsessed with Madagascar 2. I think I could try out for a part and NAIL it. Anyway, here are some photos of the pinata that I made and the cake that I made. Also, I also made the invitations for this wonderful event, so I will include those beauties. :)

I decorated the front of the cards with animal print, and then on the inside I cut out smaller pieces of animal print that I had used on the outside of other cards. So, each card had zebra, giraffe, and cheatah print somewhere on it.

Now for the birthday cake. Seriously, I didn't save much when you think of time. I have missed out on several opportunities to take naps during the day by accomplishing these things while the kiddos have been asleep during the day. I have been working for weeks!

FINISHED PRODUCT! TA DA!!

Sydney LOVED cleaning up after me. :) She also thinks the cake is yummy, so I am excited for everyone to get to eat some too!

Here are some pictures of the pinata that I made. I used posterboard to make the large circles. I used another piece of posterboard to make the sides as well. I taped it together and started decorating. It took quite awhile to actually be DONE. :) It isn't your traditional pinata though. It is a pull-string pinata. So only ONE piece of curling ribbon actually opens the magic trap door...oooohhh... :)
